Ministry Vision:
Our vision is to support national church planters around the world by discipling and training the pastors of local churches who have had essentially no Bible training, as well as training men to become new pastors. We believe that training in areas like theology and inductive Bible study will strengthen these men in their efforts to reach their communities with the gospel. We believe that if these “faithful men” are equipped to train other faithful men who will teach others (II Tim. 2:2), the vision of planting church-planting churches can be a vibrant reality in any culture. We plan to do this by making the many resources we have available to others by adapting them to the culture and translating them into the language. By customizing biblical training materials for specific cultures and teaching them how to use them, we can equip national church planters to be effective in their home countries.
Biographies:
Nathaniel was born in southwest Michigan as the third of seven children. Kara grew up in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, the youngest daughter of a residential contractor. We both were raised hearing the gospel and trusted Christ for salvation from sin while young. We married in 2007 and have four children: Juliana, Ariana, Cassandra, and Grant.
We met in college, both pursuing careers in education. After getting married, we discussed many plans, but nothing was coming to fruition. In 2011, God led us to Frontier School of the Bible in LaGrange, Wyoming. There the Lord made it clear that He was calling us into full-time vocational ministry. After four years at Frontier, God began to lead our hearts in the direction of empowering national church planters in several countries. We began pursuing this type of ministry in 2015, and joined TBM a couple years later. As God continues to lead us with TBM, we are very excited to see that vision becoming a reality. We are working alongside the Director of Tentmakers International Bible Training, preparing biblical training materials for TBM church planters and national pastors. Once these materials are tailored for each specific culture and work, we will work alongside these men on location as these resources are implemented.
