THE RODERICK BIOGRAPHY

Through God’s lovingkindness, Steve and Deb fell in love with the Ugandan people in 2007 during their first of many short-term mission trips to Africa.  A favorite quote in Uganda is, “God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  And that is His nature!”  We serve an amazing God, His goodness is overwhelming, and they are so grateful that God has been preparing them for full-time service Uganda since that time.

Steve was born in Puerto Rico while his dad was serving in the Air Force, but grew up as an only child in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Steve trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at age 27 after a long journey of searching for the truth.  That search brought him to Texas where he met his wife, Deb.

Deb was born in Pasadena, Texas and grew up in the suburbs of Houston. Deb trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior at age 12.  Steve and Deb were married in 1985 and now have three sons, a daughter, three daughters-in-love, and a very adventurous and determined granddaughter.

After attending a mission conference early in their marriage, they both surrendered to the Lord to go and serve Him wherever and however the Lord directed them.  The Lord grew their love for missions and their desire to serve Him in full-time service.  During their preparation for Uganda, they owned a guest ranch in Colorado for 17 years where the mission field came to them through ministering to the guests and staff.  Through a series of events, and the faithful counsel of Pastor Bruce and Donna Miles, God directed them to Frontier School of the Bible to continue in preparation for full-time ministry.

Steve and Deb attended Frontier and Steve received his BA while Deb was serving full-time as Registrar.  After graduation Steve began serving full-time at Frontier as the Director of TREK. [TREK is a ministry designed by Frontier as an outreach to Junior and Seniors in high school.  The purpose of TREK is to energize young people’s spiritual journey (with the help of our FSB college students) through discipleship training, short-term ministry trips, and challenging them to impact their world for Jesus Christ.]  Steve has also had the privilege of teaching apologetics for several years at Frontier.

“We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom so that we may present every man complete in Christ.” Colossians 1:28
