On The March

THE BAGLEY BRIEF

March 4, 2026

Dear Co-workers in the Ministry,
Today is the only date on the calendar that is also considered a command or order: “March forth!” Therefore, it seems like a good day to give a missionary update. The Christian life is not a playground, it’s a battleground and God is calling each of us to “March forth!” This Sunday, I’ll finish a sermon series on 2 Timothy where we read the “epitaph” of the apostle Paul’s life who said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” May this be the epitaph of each of our lives.
We have been “marching forward” here in Montpelier, thanks to your faithful prayers, encouragement, and support. We are profoundly grateful for the way that you are standing with us in this church plant. We wanted to update you on what God has been doing since our last update on November 19, 2025.

We enjoyed a special Thanksgiving with our oldest daughter Grace, son-in-law Thomas and grandson Walter at their home in Kim, CO, along with Laura’s parents. We then entered the busy Christmas season which culminated with our Christmas Eve Service outreach. We had a new attendance record for Hope Bible Church that night with seventy-four people in attendance. We had seating for eighty-one people, so it was quite full! We met a lot of new people from the valley, and it was a special night to share the glorious gospel message through song and God’s Word.

The next day was difficult for our family as our daughter, Grace, had a miscarriage and an emergency surgery. It wasn’t the kind of Christmas any of us expected but God showered us all with mercy and grace by protecting our daughter through it all. Please pray for Thomas and Grace as she is scheduled for another surgery on March 10.

With the new year upon us, we resumed our regular ministries through which we see God working in tangible ways. Our new midweek children’s ministry called, “Hope Kids” has grown to the point where we can no longer meet in the youth building. Now, I’m stacking all the chairs each week in the sanctuary and making room there for the kids to meet. We continue to have new children come and we’re grateful to meet the new families in our area.

Last week, I finished up our Bible Study on 1 John. We had an average of sixteen people in our home each week as we studied the wonderful principles of fellowship with Christ. Starting April 7, I’ll be leading the group through a one-to-one discipleship study, with the goal of them taking someone under their wing at the end of the study and discipling that person themselves. Please pray that many will accept that challenge.

Our co-workers, Amos and Emily Stott, will be doing the same study with our teens. Pray for them and for our daughter, Joy, as they work with the teens each week. We are so thankful for their faithful work with the young people. Our co-worker, Orrin Arnodlt, continues to use his gifts to assist the church in so many way. We are truly blessed by God to have such faithful help in the work of the church.

We continue to meet twice a month at the assisted living center to share ministry through music. We are building friendships there with the residents and staff. Just today, we shared a ministry of music at the local Skilled Nursing Facility. Our family and three church members were able to sing hymns and praise songs for the patients. We were asked to come back again, and we’re excited to do so.

January 16, we hosted a Chili and Pie Cook-off and Pickle-Spitting Competition and were so pleased with how many people from the area participated. It was enjoyable to let people see us in a different light as we had a lot of fun together. We keep looking for ways to build bridges with people. Pray that God will give us special wisdom in building bridges for His glory.

February 9-13, I had the privilege of returning to Frontier School of the Bible to share special lectures with the student body on the book of 2 Timothy. How encouraging it was to see so many young people excited to serve the Lord with their lives. It was a joy to catch up with former co-workers at the school and to watch new faculty and staff members serving well in their roles at the school. God is doing a wonderful work through Frontier.

This weekend, a team of students from Frontier will be traveling to Montpelier on their Spring Break. They will spend five days with our family in Bear Lake Valley. We are looking forward to giving them a glimpse of ministry in this region. They will be able to interact with two other missionary couples and a single missionary who all serve with Tentmakers Bible Mission in this area. Pray that God will burden them with the needs in this part of the country.

In our last update, I asked you to pray for a larger church building for our future. We mentioned a property that has come up for sale in town that we believe would be a perfect place. Since then, we received our first donation toward a future property! We also saw the owner drop the price slightly, so we’re continuing to pray. Thanks for praying that God would do the seemingly impossible and provide a larger place in His timing and in His way.

As we look ahead this year, pray for us as we try some new summer outreaches. In June, we are hosting a three-day Family Adventure Camp in a canyon near Montpelier. One of our couples at church is spear-heading this new ministry. We will also host two concerts with musicians who have a burden for our ministry.

We are excited to hold our first Vacation Bible School in July. We believe that we have enough people to staff the VBS on our own. Pray that God will bring all the children of His choosing.

I would ask for your prayers for my Dad. His battle with Lewy Body Dementia has become much more difficult recently. As a result, my Mom could also use your prayers as the care for my Dad has become much more involved. They are unable to come to church regularly now and that has created a void without their presence at Hope Bible Church. My younger brother, Miles, is doing a tremendous job taking care of so many daily needs for them as they live together in one home.

We ask you to pray the truth of 2 Corinthians 4:6 for our area: “For it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” Thank you again for your help with this work. What a joy to see God establish a new church and carry it along through its infancy. Your support continues to be a source of joy and strength for our family. May we all continue to “March forth” in faith for God’s glory.

With Much Gratitude,

Bill, for Laura, Joy, Cherish, Delight, Will and Comfort
