Mountain View Bible Church

David and Anikkia Koester joined the TBM family in 1995 with the goal of planting and establishing Christ-centered Bible teaching churches in Utah. Their mission is simply to be a light in the darkness of Mormon-dominated Utah and to proclaim salvation by grace through faith in Jesus alone, to a culture that strives to be good enough in their own efforts and righteousness.

Project History:

Mountain View Bible Church, located in LaVerkin Utah, began as a sister work of Southland Bible Church in St. George, UT; Pastored by Tim Miles. Pastor Ron Thompson, veteran missionary church planter, was the founding pastor of MVBC. The new church plant and vision to have a Bible teaching witness in the Hurricane Valley was established in November of 1993. By 1995, Southland Bible Church and the young MVBC family sacrificially gave towards the purchase of land and the construction of a new church building. In 2002 the Thompsons were led by the Lord to continue planting new works in Utah; and the Lord led David and Anikkia Koester come to MVBC as 2nd stage church planters to continue the work in the furtherance of the gospel in the Hurricane Valley. In 2007 the ministry of MVBC graduated from mission status to independent, self-sustaining ministry; it continues to grow and be a lighthouse of God’s grace by carrying on the vision of its founders and of its Chief Shepherd the Lord Jesus Christ.

Biography:

David and Anikkia began as church planters in 1995. They church planted in Logan, UT for 5 years before being led to serve at Mountain View Bible Church in 2002, with their three children. The Koesters took on their new role as 2nd stage church planters with the desire to see this work reach its independence. Now independent, this work continues to carry out its mission to be a Light in the Hurricane Valley: “Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Rom. 15:5-6
