Who Are The Brown’s
Gregg and Sherrie Brown have had a passion for missions for many years. Early in their marriage Sherrie asked Gregg about going to the mission field. Gregg, having just graduated from college, was anxious to pursue a career. Sherrie prayed and waited. It became her passion to attend seminary, which she did as soon as their youngest child graduated high school (receiving a Masters’ degrees in both Christian Education and Theology). After working in a church for a number of years and as Gregg retired from his career, they again sought out opportunities to go to the mission field. Attending a church that has had a 30-year passion for supporting the Bible Presbyterian Church of Uganda, Gregg and Sherrie took a mission trip to Uganda in 2022. That launched the vision for serving the Lord in Uganda! They have taught at Covenant Bible Institute of Theology in Mbale, Uganda, discipled students, led marriage and women’s conferences, and spent much time in the villages teaching pastors who have no training in understanding the Bible.
The Gospel Coalition International Outreach states, “The East African nation of Uganda has a crisis, though not one we might suppose. The plight of AIDS, the number of orphans, wars and child abductions are continual threats…But behind these problems lies a dearth of leadership in the church. Most church leaders in Uganda today have no formal training, a condition that can lead to abuses in power, false teaching and even a false gospel.”
The Brown’s write: “Our calling is to serve in Uganda, to disciple young men and women, and to see what the Lord will do for His glory. We would welcome you to become part of our team in prayer, in encouragement, and in financial support as we work together to answer God’s call.”
