Green Card Extensions – Oh No!
November 12, 2022 | Paulo and Janis Alencar
Dear Faithful Supporter,
We send you our greetings in the precious name of Jesus. We trust that as you receive this letter you are rejoicing in the Lord’s goodness and mercies.
As a consequence of the pandemic Paul’s green card (visa) was not renewed last year as expected, so a one-year extension letter was given. But, on October 26th of this year, this extension letter expired. So, we made a fast trip to the States to get the Green Card. On the 9th of November we got back in Brazil. We are sorry that this time it was not possible to see our supporters.
During this trip we met our daughter-in-law’s family. They are from South Africa but are currently living in Australia. Together with family and friends we celebrated Jason and Tatum’s marriage. Pray as Jason will begin a new position in December as Day Camp Sunshine director. Tatum has started working at the Sunshine Day Care as assistant director which is also on the property where they live and work.
We are excited that our daughter Joyce and Amos are expecting their first child in April. Joyce continues working at West Florida Hospital and Amos works at Baptist Hospital. It is such a blessing how they are actively serving the Lord in their church, both with the youth group on Wednesdays and the young couples connect group on Sunday evenings.
Our youngest son Jonathan recently finished his midterm exams successfully. He is studying
Business/management. Lord willing, he will begin his senior year next semester. He spent nine weeks this summer with Jason and Tatum working as counselor at Day Camp Sunshine. Pray for him as he has a heavy load this semester.
Although we have not written often, we constantly remember you in our prayers. We thank God for placing you in our lives as faithful prayer warriors and supporters over the years. We are reminded of Ephesians 3:20 which says, “God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.”
As we contemplate God’s faithfulness, we thank Him for the difference you have made in our lives and ministry. We are humbled as we ponder on the privilege of serving such an awesome and powerful God together with you as co-laborers. Thank you so very much for being a blessing to us.
With Love and Prayers,
Paul and Janis Alencar
