Update: Report from the Thompson’s        April 2024

April 30, 2024

Dear Co-laborers,

We thank you for your prayer, encouragement, and financial support over the past four months, and we apologize for not being in touch sooner.  We want to update you on the news and events that have taken place since the first of the year.

BUSY SEMESTER AT FRONTIER

I was involved in teaching or assisting 5 different classes this semester.  While the teaching load was the heaviest I had undertaken in my 12 years here at Frontier, it was also one of the best years!  I taught nearly 60 students in classes like Church Planting, the Gospel of Luke, Pastoral Theology and Homiletics.

Wanda and I worked together in hosting the 3rd Church Planting and Revitalization Conference at Frontier as well.  There were 10 organizations represented, and it was a wonderful week of challenge and interaction with the students!

Wanda continues to help in the TBM Home Office as needed, and also hosted a prayer group of 5 young ladies every 2 weeks in our home.

MOM’S HOMEGOING

February was a bittersweet month as my Mom, Doris Starr, went to be with the Lord, at age 97.  Her Home-going service was a special time with many friends and family members attending.  I had the privilege of giving the message that day.  Mom was able to remain on the farm where she grew up until the day she went to heaven, thanks to the care of my sister Tammy and the help of my brother Gary.  Mom enjoyed several visits to Frontier School of the Bible through the years, and stayed involved with the training that took place here by providing the Starr Memorial Scholarship Fund which granted over 30 scholarships for future pastoral students since 1995!

SUMMER TRAVELS

Please pray with us and for us as we travel to Michigan, Oregon, and southern Utah over the next three months, visiting family, sharing in ministry, and speaking at Bible camp.  Now in our mid-70’s, we are more grateful than ever that God has granted us the opportunities, strength, and joy to contsinue in His service!  Thank you for walkiing with us!

Fellow servants,

Ron & Wanda Thompson
