A Trinidadian Thanksgiving

March 13, 2024 | Emmanuel and Sucheta Endigeri

Dear Friends,

God is so gracious to us! It is easy to look back now and see how His hand has guided us through 36 years on the mission field and into our semi-retirement years. We can boldly say God has been our Refuge, Strength, and Helper in times of trouble. He has been faithful in both the day-to-day and in ways we could not have foreseen.

Prayer:

It pleases the Lord to continue to use us. We serve the Lord in every given opportunity, using tracks and witnessing. People are responding to the Gospel and turning to serve the true and living God. Just a few months ago, our local body baptized ten believers from Hindu and Muslim backgrounds. Now I am helping in discipling them. Please join us in praying that they may be grounded and established in their faith and trust in the Lord.

I also have the opportunity to share with our study group every Sunday morning and build them up in the faith.

Our church recently commenced a week of outreach in a Hindu community. Being from India allowed us significant opportunities to share the Gospel through Hindi songs. The attendees seemed to enjoy hearing the language.

Praise:

We have completed the much-needed renovations on our home of 42 years. The house is now safe, with a solid roof that will last many years. We are grateful for our son-in-law, Kevin, who worked tirelessly alongside the worker to finish the job. We were also able to replace the splintered kitchen cabinets. Then, we were surprised by Todd’s Road Church, which has provided us a beautiful kitchen stove.

Thanksgiving: In honor of all who worked on the project, we held a “thanksgiving.” A Trinidadian thanksgiving is a unique traditional event to give thanks for any special answer to prayer followed by a meal. We had a wonderful time worshipping, along with beautiful steel pan and tabla instruments. Several close friends brought together a delicious potluck meal. We also celebrated our grandson, Elias, with a cake and singing for his third birthday. Altogether, it was a truly joyful time!

Thank you for your partnership with us both in prayer and financial support. Every precious gift enables us to continue serving and reaching others with the good news!

Our hearts are deeply touched by your love for us. May God bless you richly!

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Emmanuel and Sucheta
