Amazing God! — Amazing Month!

May 20, 2026 | Dan and Sharon Leatherwood

Dear Friends and Family,

May has been quite an amazing month! We are in awe of all God is doing! Thank you for your constant prayer support! Let me share a few things with you:

My son Avery and two of his friends from university, Zach and Lio, who are also in the music department, planned a trip to come for a visit. One of them is studying theology and has the desire to be a worship pastor. We asked them if while they were here they would consider leading music. The first week I preached and they sang and WOW! The joy of the Lord was so evident in these boys. The second Sunday they were here, I asked that they lead the whole service and present the Gospel through praise, Scripture, and testimony. Again, WOW! After the first week, some of the church asked about having a meal after the service the second week (as that was the last one with the boys) so that people could visit with them. We did and it was a beautiful thing to look around the room and see so many connecting. Also, one of our young teens was visiting with Lio and he is not a young man who ever really wants to be coming to church, so to see him connecting was a blessing!

Let me backup a minute. Sharon and I always pray on the way to church for the service and those coming and that God would be glorified. The first Sunday of our guests, we had to pull out more chairs plus we had visitors! The second week we were prepared with chairs. It is so exciting to see this growth after all this time! My son commented how different it feels now. There is community.

Another exciting detail is that the Wednesday midweek study tripled in attendance last week! And everyone had read the passage and came with something to share! Including the visitors of the first week. Go God!

The final detail that I want to share happened in one of my English conversation classes. A teen who has been coming, brought up religion and asked about what we believe. I had the opportunity to point her to the Bible as our guide. She had several questions that I answered and I feel there will be more in the future. It was amazing how everything came together in a non threatening manner and she was open for more.

We are so thankful for God’s faithfulness and how He works in His timing. We need to be available and willing and not press our timing or agenda. Please continue to pray for more opportunities to share, and for the growth of the church and praise God for what He is doing. We have also been praying for the Lord to bring us someone to work alongside to share in the church development. To have a worship pastor would be an amazing addition, but we want it to be God’s will, not ours.
Thank you. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than we can think or imagine, to Him be the glory forever and ever.

With our love from Spain,
Dan and Sharon Leatherwood
