An Emphatic Thank You!

Dear Friends and Family,
It has been a busy and exciting time here in northern Spain. We wanted to write and share a couple of details along with some prayer requests as we rapidly approach the summer season here.
A couple weeks ago, Fernando came up to me at church and told me emphatically that I need to send their thanks to all of the Body of Christ that has been praying for them and also those who sent financial gifts in response to the problem with the insurance company denying payment for the funeral home expenses. He told me that the financial gifts covered 100% of the debt, down to the Euro! They are doing pretty well as a family as they journey through the grief process. Please continue to pray for each of them (Fernando (father), Carmen (mother), Fernando (son), and Luis (son).
Last Sunday (April 21), we had a special celebration as we baptized five individuals from our church group: 2 adolescents (Aaron and Diego), 1 young adult (Fernando the son mentioned above), and two adults (Manuel and Jose, both are dads in the group). We went to a nearby lake to celebrate this moment in the open air. In addition to our group, there were several individuals passing by who stopped to watch and listen. The water was cold, but the day was great! After the baptisms, we spent the early afternoon together, having a meal by the lake. Please continue to pray for each of the individuals.
As the calendar pages continue to turn, we see the summer dates approaching and know that soon we will be visited by two teams. One of these teams will be coming from El Cajon, CA and will be helping with various projects at the camp facility along with moments of learning and experiencing the culture and spiritual context of life and ministry here. The second group will be coming from California Baptist University and will be living in a nearby town to get an immersion type flavor of life here and then moving on to help with camp (June 23-29). Please be praying with us as we desire for the people who surround us to see the love and presence of God in each one of us.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support. God uses you in many ways to encourage us here in Spain.
In Him,
Dan and Sharon Leatherwood
