Big Changes Coming

Big Changes Coming

The last sermon I preached before Emmerie and I moved to Las Vegas to plant East Valley Bible Church was at a wonderful and loving church called River Valley Bible Church in Mesquite, NV. I preached from Philippians 1.

“I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you, always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”

Emmerie and I understood well our only path toward ministry in Las Vegas was if God provided “partnerships in the gospel.”
God provided many of you from “the first day until now” for the last 13 years. We have had individuals and churches support us from all over the globe. You are the best example of 1 Thessalonians 5:24. “He who calls you is faithful, He will also do it.”

You are the answer to our prayers and the hands and feet of Jesus.

I gush over all of you because “I give thanks to my God every time I remember you” and I have so much “joy for you when I pray for you.” You have transformed my family’s life. I wish I could say more than thank you!

I look back because our future is changing. Emmerie and I are being led by the Lord to take a pastoral position in Iowa. This has been a struggle to discern the Lord’s direction, but over the last 10 months we have seen God open doors, answer prayer, and give unity in our marriage. This is not an easy decision, and it is not one we are taking lightly. But we are confident in the Lord. And we are surrendering to His will instead of mine.

Here are a few important pieces of information.

Our last Sunday teaching at East Valley Bible Church is July 27th.

Our last day before our resignation from Tentmakers Bible Mission is August 17th. Our new position will not require us to be supported financially as missionaries.

East Valley Bible Church is a very healthy church at this time, but it is very unstable. It doesn’t have the leadership to continue ministry effectively. As a result, the 4 elders and Tentmakers Bible Mission have unanimously recommended to EVBC to shut the doors following our departure.

Your support and prayers for our family have allowed us to witness to and serve many people in the Las Vegas valley, and as a result a number of them found a family at East Valley. Although we are sad to see the doors closed, we are so grateful to you for allowing us to be a light in a dark place and a family to the lonely. The gospel has gone out. People have been saved, discipled and encouraged in their relationship with the Lord. And we have reasons to celebrate.

You have eternally impacted Las Vegas and our family’s life. If you would like to reach out, please contact me at 702.287.9927 or memoore6212@gmail.com.

With much love and godly sincerity,
