Feliz Navidad from the Fowlers in Tarapoto!

It is hot here and there will be no snow for Christmas, we never get snow in fact when it gets down below 75 it is cold.  But we are still in the Christmas spirit and have already had two chocolatadas (hot chocolate with paneton) which includes an evangelistic Christmas program.

We are only half done with the church activities this month.  Saturday we go to a village named Nuevo Trujillo and expect some 40 kids, we plan to tell a Bible story, play games, learn Bible verses, share the gospel, cut some hair, give away clothes and gifts and then eat hot chocolate and paneton (a sweet Christmas bread with raisins and dried papaya).

Then on Sunday evening we will have a big Christmas pageant with music and a chocolatado at the church.  The youth especially have been practicing and everyone is getting the songs ready.  This is always a great program and opportunity to remind people that Jesus was born so we might live and share we need to put all our faith and trust in Him.  There may be as many as 80 if it’s like other years.

The construction is still going forward and we praise God for His provision although we need more in order to finish completely and then remodel our current house for the church meeting room.  This is an exciting project and the church is waiting patiently the day they have a bigger meeting place.  The car port is becoming too small, which is a great problem for the church.

The youth are growing up and helping with the programs and the preaching.  It is encouraging to see growth and see youth want to know more of the scriptures.  My favorite part is teaching them how to study the Bible for themselves and apply it to their own lives.  Many times, I do this in the men’s meeting on Thursday evening.

Please continue to pray for the Community Bible Church and the construction and the spiritual growth of the young people.  Also please pray for Delwin as he has been feeling low energy for about a month now and is on a diet to control high cholesterol.
