Grateful!

Dearest ones in Christ Jesus,

On this Thanksgiving Day, we thank God for the precious gift of life, for friends and family in the flesh and in the faith of Jesus Christ. We also praise and thank God for all the good and gracious gifts He has granted us. Sure, we do not have all the family members we would like to have close by, and we do not have the best of health conditions that we would want, but we are grateful for those we do have at hand and the multiple benefits and privileges that we enjoy. So, as Paul would write: Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. I Timothy 6:6-8.

So, on this Thanksgiving Day, may you thoroughly enjoy the here and now of life, with grateful hearts and praises to the Lord, the Giver of life and healer of our souls.
