Harris Family Blessing Update
July 19, 2020 | Brad and Ellie Harris
Dear Family and Friends,
We have been very humbled by the hearts of everyone who are loving us through this process, and grateful for the grace we are being given in the responses we have received regarding our last letter. It has been such a beautiful blessing to our family and served as such a sweet and special reminder of God’s goodness, love, and grace towards us-shown through His people. Thank you!
We just wanted to give a brief update on how things are unfolding: so as to keep you informed, and to ask, as always, for continued prayers through this process! We have booked plane tickets for our family to try to fly from Nairobi on August 3rd (but of course, this is only if the international borders remain open after the 21-day trial the President set in place). This only gives us a couple of weeks left to prepare (in case we actually can fly by then). There is LOTS to do, and (possibly) little time.
But at the same time, there are still SO many variables left undone and uncertain. Everything is very “up in the air” right now…which does make it quite challenging to try to plan anything?! There is a very good chance that the international borders will be announced “closed” again, before they have even operated as open yet. This is all very dependent on various variables regarding how well the country is containing the virus. But we think it could be wise anyway, that we try to eliminate all that we can, and do not necessarily need for now. We hope to only keep the basics (bare necessities), and when we hear more, we will have to move quickly to deal with the last-minute things, as best as possible.
We are trying to lean into the Lord, and trust His perfect plan, purposes, and timing, believing that HE knows best…even when we cannot see or do not understand it all. A “step of faith” is how we see booking these tickets! We are trying to be faithful to take the next steps…as HE lights the way. We are going to try to do our best to be ready too – waiting on the Lord, for HIS timing (whenever that may be)?
Continued prayer for every step of the way: for all of the logistics, as well as all of what happens in our heads and hearts, with the changes, uncertainty, etc. would be very much welcomed and appreciated!
We are so very thankful for you, and ALL that you do! Thank you for ALL of your care and prayers for our family.
