Important Prayer Request & Update

A BRIEF (but important) UPDATE FROM THE THOMPSON’S
January 11, 2025
Dear Co-laborers,
We thank God for your partnership through yet another year of ministry together!
WE HAVE AN IMPORTANT MATTER OF PRAYER THAT WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO JOIN US IN BRINGING BEFORE THE LORD.
Over the past month we have made some important trips to Michigan, Tennessee, and Utah both for ministry as well as important family and friend visits. Wanda’s older sister, who was dealing with some serious health problems, suddenly took a downturn in her circumstance. We dropped everything to go be with her and her husband, but she went to be with the Lord before we got there. It was a privilege to spend a couple of days with Terry and their two older children. There will be a memorial service in early March which we plan to be at.
After a month of intense travel, Wanda developed some serious blood pressure issues which required hospitalization and consultations with several Cardiologists. It has been almost 10 years since Wanda’s heart attack, and though she has done well, the Doctors felt that she would require surgery to insert two more stents into her heart. Since she is currently in the hospital, they felt she should remain here until that surgical procedure has taken place, WHICH WILL BE MONDAY MORNING.
God has given us His peace through these unexpected circumstances, but knowing you will join us in prayer helps even more! Thank you for standing with us.
We will keep you posted as we move through these next days. Fellow faculty members at Frontier are graciously covering my classes during my absence, and keeping both of us in prayer.
Fellow servants,
UPDATE (to the Update) Concerning Wanda Thompson 1/23/2025
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers!
It was evident at every turn of events over the past two weeks that you have been holding us up in prayer. God gave peace in the midst of ever-changing circumstances.
First, Wanda did not have her stent surgery, though she eventually will. After she had her heart cath., with the date scheduled for two stents, the doctors decided that her hemoglobin level was too low, presenting a potential bleeding risk (they have her on 3 blood thinners).
They decided to send her home to rest and get stronger. We agreed with that, since after seven days in the hospital she was more exhausted than when she arrived! She has been home for a week and is much stronger. Her latest blood test showed an encouraging rise in her hemoglobin level, with another blood test in a couple of weeks. If all goes well, they will reschedule her procedure sometime in the next two months.
We are planning to travel to Tennessee in 5 weeks so that Wanda can be at her older sister’s Memorial service. Linda was a faithful believer and used her wonderful voice for the glory of God. Pray that our travel plan will be low impact, and that Wanda will tolerate the travel well.
We are grateful for your prayer and your many calls, emails, and texts of encouragement to Wanda. We will let you know when her surgery is rescheduled. Until then, we are lifted up by your prayer on our behalf, and thankful to the ‘God of all comfort’ for His faithfulness in the midst of the uncertainties of life.
Ever thankful!
