New Church Building Move In Day Close

But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love….May your unfailing love rest on us, even as we put out hope on you. Psalm 33: 18 and 2:2
We are already in the third month of this year. Time rolls on and we just keep rolling along waiting for His soon return. Surely, His return is even at the door-more so as the days go by.
We started out the year with VBS January 14-18 and averaged 80 some kids each day. Around 25 + of these kids were adolescent. Our granddaughter, Beca, and daughter Addy were here to help and Beca told the missionary story and she did an excellent job. The kids loved her. She dressed the part of a Mexican lady to go with the story of a little Mexican boy called Samuelito. She gave an invitation one day and a number of kids raised their hands and prayed with her. The next day a little girl came up to her and said: “It feels so good to have Jesus in my heart.”
The Lord has laid the adolescents on the hearts of the pastor and his wife plus two more to help and they started a regular work for the adolescents on Feb. 23rd with 11 adolescents and they plan it once a month, but the kids want more. They are so excited. Mostly kids from our neighborhood.
We are hoping to be in our new building by May 4th when our Anniversary comes around. This will make 36 Yrs.
There was a workday on Feb. 9th and the men got a lot done this time. They got a sidewalk poured around the back of the church and one side plus in the handicap bathroom. The walls got plastered to a certain height. A man is working every day to get as much done as possible. The electric wiring is in and still need the windows, ceramic flooring, doors and little odds and ends to put in.
The ladies’ group has started a new year and we do have projects in mind. We plan to expand on our sewing classes and even offer some crafts and learn some more about painting dishtowels, etc., as well as our baking classes and have our annual retreat in Nov this year. We want to do some visitation this yr. as we have a lot of shut ins that need encouragement. The main thing we do though, is study the Word. I haven’t decided yet just what we will be studying and we have prayer meetings too. So we trust we are helping the church to grow especially spiritually.
I still help with the music every Sunday and recently my piano began to sound horrible and come to find out the main peddle had come loose. So, I called the man who usually tunes the piano and he came and fixed it and then awhile later had to come again for the same thing and says when it happens again just call him. My accordion has some notes sticking also. Maybe I should learn to play the guitar. Ha!
I had cataract surgery in December and all went well. I had a checkup and an endoscopic exam and all is well there. I have to watch my blood sugar and blood pressure.
Skip is doing well also. Betters his speech every day and other days, he is communicating as well as can be expected. Just have to have patience. He tries so hard to explain something in Bible Study. I try to get it across but it is hard. He is bundled up most of the time even in times when the temp is in the 80’s or so. He still has to walk slowly with his cane but so glad he is not bedridden and can do some things for himself. But I do try to keep an eye on him so he doesn’t fall.
We are so thankful for your faithfulness and financial giving. May God bless you richly and May His unfailing love surround you day by day.
