No Cowboy Camp This Year

May 14, 2021 | Dan and Sharon Leatherwood

Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you for your prayers and responses about camp and the unknown about whether international travel would be realistic to receive volunteers. I cannot say enough what a blessing it is to receive responses telling us that people are praying! It is a reminder that we are not alone.

In the end, we have had to cancel camp. It was a hard decision especially as we had developed a protocol and plans to work through the day-to-day details of camp. However, we saw that international travel isn’t an option to be able to book tickets in time for camp. I, Dan, have been in contact with the parents of the campers and although they all are disappointed, the overall general response has been thankfulness for our concern for their children. Another reminder of how God uses EVERYTHING for good! He is working in ways that we don’t always see in the moment, but that are much bigger than we can imagine.

As the camp door closed for this summer, another door for pursuing and developing a new ministry possibility has opened. We are working on a renewed and different Spanish youth trip to the US. There will be more details coming soon… Please pray with us that the Lord will guide and direct as we seek Him to see how we can carry out this new activity designed to expose teens to the Gospel in a very clear and real way.

Thank you for your prayers and participation in this ministry.

We definitely serve an awesome God!!!
