Our Faithful and Awesome God

July 28, 2025 | Skip and Betty Harkins

O Lord you are my God: I will exalt you and praise you for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned. You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in you. Isaiah 25:1 and 26:3

Time for an update from way down south Brazil and our God is Awesome. How thankful we are that God is a faithful and loving God and keeps us in perfect peace as we see the happenings in the world. Surely great things He is doing in our lives as we seek His face every morning. Our God is an Awesome God.

Things down here are going well. Our God is faithful in meeting our needs: spiritually, physically and financially.

Back in April, Betty had a bout with her diabetes. Her blood sugar went down too low, and she was on the verge of a coma. She spent one day and a night in the hospital. She is monitoring it now and it is under control. She had been taking too much medication to control it.

Skip has been doing well but has some very good days and some when not so good. His speech is much better and surprises us. He manages Portuguese much better now also. Still has fono and therapy exercises twice a week.

Our church had an evangelism outreach in July. Since it is our cold season, we had a bonfire service. The theme of the message was taken from John 14:6 and the gospel message was presented. A good time of fellowship was enjoyed later.

Our ladies have been studying about obedience in our Christian lives. I am encouraged to see participation from the ladies in this study. They are growing in their faith.

In April Naomi went home and our granddaughter Beca came for a couple months. Skip was happy to have her here with us. I thank the Lord for meeting this need. I was thinking about needing someone to help but did not really know what to do. I think of the verse “before you call, I will answer,” and praise the Lord He met the need before I called.
Praise:
for Skip’s continued good health
Bettys controlled blood sugar
for good evangelism endeavor
for Beca coming to help for a while.

Request for prayer:
for our health needs
the neighbors who heard the gospel
because of Covid we had to stop our children’s ministry – pray that we can start up again soon
spiritual growth among the church people

We thank you for your prayers and financial support, May God bless you all.
Yours for Brazil,
Wayne ( “Skip”) and Betty Harkins
