Our Unexpected Journey Is Ending
July 21, 2020 | Kenton and Sonya Becker
Dear praying friends, July 2020
We want to sincerely thank you for your support, prayers and encouragement to us during these past months of unexpected events in the world and in all our lives. As you may already know, we ended up staying in Grand Junction, CO with Sonya’s parents during the whole COVID shutdown. But what might have been intended for evil by Satan and the world system, God has used for good to the glory of His name! We were not only able to spend quality time with our parents, but we also (thanks to internet) continued our Sunday worship services in France, the Friday Club, the Keys Club and 3 weekly Bible Studies as well as encouraging more than 20 people daily with an email devotional written by Kent.
The daily devotionals were actually inspired by the needs of the people during this time, and their availability to stay at home and read God’s Word. The devotionals are designed to bring overall context and understanding of each daily scripture passage, which will eventually bring the reader through the Bible in three years. Kent spent considerable time each day for three months studying and writing these devotionals. We have been very encouraged to see greater interest in reading and understanding God’s Word; and we see growth in people and families as they live what they learn!
Unfortunately, we were not able to see people during this time out of respect for the COVID precautions. Perhaps it was also God’s gift to us: a time of rest after an extremely demanding, event filled last couple of years. We feel that God has confirmed the call on our lives to return to France and continue the discipleship of so many of our friends there.
We left Grand Junction on June 10 to visit supporters and churches in ND, SD, MN, NE, IA, MI and quick see our girls on the east coast before flying back to France on July 21. YES! We were able to get tickets and the good news is that we didn’t pay any extra charges for it! Thank you, Lord! And thanks to you all who stand with us in prayer and financial support so faithfully.
Blessings to each one of you,
Kent and Sonya Becker
