Update From Southern Peru

May 20, 2019 | Jeffrey and Angela Anderson

Dear Family and Friends,

Well it’s time for another update.  The 24th-26th of April, I made another trip into Colca Canyon with two Peruvian brothers, Rene and Floro.  We had a great meeting in Pinchollo and I really think the brothers there, especially Leandro, are sincere in their desire to be more faithful.  We also visited with Procarpio and his wife, Areliana, in Tapay.  They organized a meeting with two other couples and we had the joy of seeing them commit to start meeting regularly to study God’s Word.  Raul especially seemed humble before God admitting that he had fallen away from serving God.  We did visit with some others before heading back home.  Needless to say, we left with a thankful heart to see the Holy Spirit working.  However, this weekend we found out that Procarpio hasn’t been meeting with the others and that he doesn’t want his wife to meet with them either.  We aren’t really sure what happened but we are planning a trip back to Tapay at the end of the month to visit with him and his wife.  Angela will be accompanying me this time so that we can have a good visit with them as a couple.

That trip will possibly include a detour to Lucco on the way home for a 3-day church convention.  Lucco is a small village but the church there has organized this convention inviting believers from various churches in the region.  I’ve never been there and so this should be a great opportunity to make some connections and get to know some more of my Christian family.

The first week in May we traveled to Tarapoto, in the high Peruvian jungle to the north.  The purpose of the trip was to visit Delwin and Techy Fowler, TBM missionaries in the area.  It was a great time of fellowship and getting know the joys and struggles of the Lord’s work in the jungle.

The kid’s ministry in Belaunde has grown since changing to Friday afternoons.  We now have up to 20 kids at times.  The ages are from 3 to 13.  Please pray for more workers to help us out.

Finish Strong,
Jeff and Angela Anderson
