We Serve the High and Lofty One!
December 4, 2018 | Bradley and Annie Balfour
For thus says the High and Lofty One
Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
With him who has a contrite and humble spirit,
To revive the spirit of the humble,
And to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57:15
Thank you for taking the time to praise and pray over our report! We as a family are starting to get settled into our new ministry. It hasn’t always been easy nor did we think it would be. However, we desire this verse to be the prayer of our hearts. We are asking for you to pray that the High and Lofty One will dwell among us.
We love you and are thankful for many of you who have been lifting us up in prayer.
November 8th was the grand opening of the new Costco store where I work. The Lord has given me many opportunities to share with my coworkers about our church. I would appreciate you praying that the Lord would grant me opportunities to boldly share my faith and to keep inviting them to church.
Prayer Request
This job has been a huge blessing, but it has also been very demanding. Instead of working 24-30 hours a week I have been averaging around 40 hours a week. In one sense this has been good because it has provided for some of our financial needs. We are praying for more financial partners so that I can scale back my hours a little bit so that I can focus more of my attention on the church.
I have five workers that I’d like for you to pray for. I want to give their names, but I think it is important that I keep their names anonymous at this time. If you would like to know their names specifically feel free to text me at 973-796-6857. Each of these individuals has shown interest in church or knowing more about the Lord.
Well, I have turned another year older and possibly a little wiser. I thank the Lord for a loving family. God has truly blessed me with a loving wife who has taught our children to love their Dad. They made me feel special that night.
Prayer Request:
Pray for Annie as she homeschools our children. Pray for wisdom and lots of patience.
Pray for Chirysh as she matures into a godly young lady. Pray that she will start to find girls her age that can become good friends.
Pray for Michael to continue to mature. He aims to please, and I pray that that sweet smile will take him places far.
Pray for Lydia. Lydia has started to ask some excellent questions about salvation.
Pray for little Ruby. Pray that we know how to channel all of her energy.
Well as I mentioned we are getting settled into the desert life here in Henderson/Las Vegas. One of the things that we as a family like to do is hike. We have discovered some really good hiking spots.
Praise:
We have begun to fit in with our new church family. Here are some things that have been happening at East Valley Bible Church.
Annie had the opportunity to share her testimony at our last communion Sunday. She was also able to recently get connected at the Pregnancy Resource Center.
Prayer Request:
Pray that she will be able to continue to connect with the ladies and the people of our church.
Also, pray for us as we take on some meetings at some local churches in the area. We are praying that some of these churches would see our vision and come alongside us.
Also, pray that East Valley Bible Church continues to grow. We have seen two new families join sense September. It’s exciting to see this church take shape.
We want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
