Urgent Prayer Request
October 25, 2024 | Ronnie and Meela Heerah
Dear Prayer Warriors,
We could use your prayers. Last month after some testing, Ronnie was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The tests so far have revealed that there is no evidence of metastasizing and it seems like the cancer is contained in the prostate. There is still some ongoing tests to be done but he will be meeting with the oncologist / urologist surgeon on Monday, the 28th to decide a course of action, whether it be surgery or radiation or both.
As you know, he is in Wyoming, teaching some Bible classes at Frontier School of the Bible for this Fall semester. This is both a blessing and a problem. The blessing is that being diagnosed here in the USA and getting treated here gives him the best treatment possible. BUT the problem is that although he has accident insurance for while he is in the USA instead of Trinidad, the insurance does not cover a “pre-existing” condition, which this cancer is classified as. Through generous gifts and reduced fees, he has so far been able to cover the testing expenses. But now comes the treatment which is quite expensive. The Heerah’s have started a “Go-Fund-Me” account and are putting the word out for those who the Lord would nudge to give to.
Their most recent note states: “We give thanks! Thanks seems like such mere words to describe how we really feel at this time. We are humbled and grateful for the support and encouragement from all of His children. Our newest update shows that we’ve reached 25% of the goal in just 4 days and for this we are super grateful. We believe God will see us through with all of you on the team praying and sharing with your friends. We are confident that God will see us through and accomplish His will for His glory. I am doing well and the family is trusting. Keep us in your prayers. Love to all of you.”
During the testing and waiting, Ronnie has still been teaching classes and blessing the students at Frontier. The Heerah’s are resting in the Lord for each day. If the Lord would lead you to give towards his medical bills which total $25,000, here is the link:
