Let Us Serve / Worship The Lord!

Dear Family and Friends,
Just a few days ago I was again reading on the meaning of Joshua’s famous words… “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (24:15). The Hebrew word for “serve” is “Avodah”, and in just two verses Joshua repeats it 7 different times. Important? Of course! Interestingly enough, as you may read in different versions, the same word is translated as “serve” and at times as “worship”. Which is right? Actually both are. The Hebrews always thought of work and worship as being of the same essence because it is ALL done as unto the Lord. Fascinating, isn’t it?
